Killer whales, orca, have never once harmed a human being in the wild. In their natural habitat they exist as extended family groups more like a tribe than a herd. Females in the wild live to be as old as one hundred years old. In this time their offspring never leave their mothers and they form large matriarchal groups with the larger males kept on the edges of the family group. They have their own language and dialects which are unintelligible to other whale pods.
Now here is the intriguing thing. Their brains are large, larger than ours and just as complex. There is one major difference. Where we have a highly evolved cerebral cortex which allows for rational thought they have a highly evolved structure linked to the limbic system the center of emotion.
We evolved to think. They evolved to feel.
